Sorry I’ve been kinda quiet for the last few days – as you know, I have integrity when it comes to blogging, so I make it a rule blog everyday, unless I’m overseas or I’m sick (or dead for that matter, but choy, touch wood). I’ve been down with gastroenteritis (tis tis tis tis this is a damn long name for a sickness), and to put it simply without grossing you out, entails me doing a lot of brisk walking to and fro toilets and depleting the toilet paper supply. Heh.
I’m basically stuck on a diet of porridge and barley for I-don’t-know-how-long, so today’s blog entry will be in commemoration of what I cannot eat – which is basically everything. MEH!
I attended the Liang Court Food Trail tasting session a couple of weeks ago, and trust me, you’re going to want in on this awesome deal.

Before you assume that it’s some cheapo not-worth-your-money type of meals, check my photos out~
Zomg cuteness overload – Rice and Shine anybardy?
Our first stop – Tamoya, a fast-food style Tempura joint
Very typically Japanese – neat and organised and you know exactly where to go to do what. Basically, you just take a tray and move down the line.
A wide range of freshly-cooked tempura items for your picking (if you come on any other days). For the Wednesday Food Tasting Trails, you get a pre-set meal.
Garnishings for your meal. nom nom.
And voila! This is what you’ll get from Tamoya, #01-32, if you purchase the dining coupon. A large Curry Udon, prawn tempura, fried chicken and chikuwa tempura.
Trust me, it’s realllyyy filling, and tastes really yums as well – no overfried, over-soaked in oil feeling here.
Our next stop – some Chinese cuisine at Tanyoto, #01-25 (this is located outside of the main building)
The Tan’s Fish Head with Pickled Chilli – collagen-rich fish lips / fish cheeks (yes, there’s fish under all that seemingly-fiery chilli slices, which by the way aren’t that spicy.
One of my favourite dishes from Tanyoto that night – the Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles. Looks can be deceiving – once you mix it up properly with the chilli and spices below, it’s one helluva spicy dish. Loves!
Minced Meat Dumpling in Chilli Sauce – by now, you should have figured out that those with no tolerance for spiciness should avoid this place. Heh. This isn’t as horribly spicy as it looks though, with soft tender meat encased within a thin dumpling skin.
Sichuan Dragon Soft Dumpling – it’s kinda like the previous dish, except that it comes in a bowl of clear hot soup.
And yes, from Tanyoto, the dining coupon gets you Minced Meat Dumpling in Chilli Sauce, Sichuan Dragon Soft Dumpling, Tan’s Fish Head with Pickled Chilli and Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles (1 portion each)
And our last food stop is Ryoshi Sushi Ikeikemaru, #B1-50 – tummies totally bursting at the seams at this time heh.
Whilst waiting for the chef to do up our food – this is one of the rare times I got to experience the true Japanese integrity in their sushi. The chef had actually prepared our food earlier, but because we took longer than expected to arrive, he threw it away, cos the food had sat there for too long (and by too long I think it was… 1 hour).
What you’ll get from Ikeikemaru – The Lady’s Set , which isn’t very female-skewed actually. There’s 3 types of fresh sashimi, assortment of tempura, garde salad, miso-marinated tofu topped with urchin (which has the most interesting taste!), 5 pieces of sushi and a dessert with fruits and kanten (something like konyaku jelly noodles).
So there you have it! One of the best deals so far for this year – just $30 for 3 meals at 3 different restaurants (and you don’t even have to finish it in one day!) When you purchase the Dining Coupon at the Level 2 Customer Service Counter, you’ll also receive a copy of the Food Trails Guide so that you can decide on where you want to go. Remember, the first restaurant is pre-set and allocated on a random basis (have to be fair to the restaurants right?), but you can choose the other 2 that you wanna go to.
And for the cherry on the pie – did I also mention that you’ll get a free beer or cider (worth up to $6.50) from Thirsty The Beer Shop as well?
Go buy the dining coupon naooooo.
