Ever since my shoot for Kenzo beauty for Singapore Women’s Weekly where I got a super pretty nude lippie applied by the pro MUA, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect nude lippie, and by golly, I may have found it!
Lirikos Marine Rouge On Lipstick
I say…
The Packaging: The usual plastic tube with a twist-up lipstick bullet.
The Scent: A mild citrusy refreshing fragrance.
The Texture: Relatively creamy, glides over the skin, but is sheer with just one coat. Several coats gives you a stronger intensity.
The Verdict: It’s relatively hydrating to give a slight sheen to the finish, but doesn’t have enough colour intensity to cover the chapped lips, so be sure to exfoliate the lips before application. Once you’ve got a smooth canvas to apply the lipstick on, you’ll love the colour – it’s a nude with hints of pink, so you don’t look too washed out (especially those with yellow-toned skins). It feels light on the lips, and doesn’t leave a tint/stain when it fades. Because this isn’t a matte lippie, it doesn’t leave your lips dry/shrivelled when it fades – I got a slightly more hydrated version of my usual lips. I’d continue using this, cos it’s great for faking those sweet nude-pink barely-there lip colours. If you’re looking for a matte version with stronger colours, try Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, or Etude House’s Chiffon lips.
